How We Work

Collective Impact

Seeds of Change Surrey is guided by a Collective Impact model of collaboration. Collective impact is the collaboration of a network of community members, organizations, and institutions who advance equity by learning together, aligning, and integrating their actions to achieve population and systems-level change.

Collective Impact is based on the following five principles:

Seeds of Change holds equity at the center of the five principles of Collective Impact in order to create meaningful change. Seeds of Change strives to achieve dialogue-based decision making, where open and informed discussion can build a common understanding and inform the best route forward.

Organizational Structure

Community Partners

Seeds of Change Surrey consists of representatives who align to the mission, vision, and goals of the group. We aim to have representation from different sectors such as local government, schools, businesses, farmers, community service agencies, health, academia and research, NGOs, Indigenous partners, equity deserving groups, and people with lived/living experience.

Black, African, Caribbean (BAC) Advisory

The Black, African, Caribbean (BAC) Advisory was born from Seeds of Change Surrey in recognition of gaps in meaningful engagement with BAC communities as part of its anti-racism and justice work. The BAC Advisory is an advisory branch to SOCS that advocates and supports the advancement of food justice and policy change for multiple social determinants of health aimed at improving community well-being for all.
